Our Mission:Caring For Creatures is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit foundation established in 1987 dedicated to caring for homeless animals and enhancing the human-animal bond by: Providing a safe and healthy environment in which to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, neglected, abused, or otherwise homeless dogs and cats; Creating a lifetime home, if necessary, for animals that are elderly, disabled, and/or have a chronic condition requiring specialized care and; Promoting programs and policies that will help to stem the number of animals entering care facilities through education and awareness, promotion of spaying and neutering, and community involvement.

• Supported all members administratively of the eleven-person development team in the headquarters office, which is responsible for coordinating and maintaining relationships with all levels of donors involved with the no-profit law firm, throughout a 40 million dollar campaign• Drafted and proofed all tax acknowledgement letters and general correspondence, proofread publications and grant applications • Answered phones, interacted with donors, and directed inquiries for the Director of Development• Helped coordinate all travel and took care of all the logistical planning for donor events within the department• Completed department expense vouchers and invoices, and helped track and maintain department’s budgetary expenses throughout the fiscal year

• Edited, tracked, and circulated documents submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and prepared comprehensive evidentiary submissions to HUD on behalf of clients• Provided quality attorney support and organization to three Partners and one Of Counsel attorney• Drafted and maintained multiple checklists in Excel for complex real estate transactions and assisted in the organization and preparation of documents for real estate closings• Planned and coordinated travel for various staff members• Worked with a team to meet multiple high priority deadlines and produce a quality product for clients• Assisted in the hiring, training, and supervising of new support staff members • Chosen to help organize and set up Reno & Cavanaugh’s new office in Nashville, Tennessee and trained new office employees on the firm’s various procedures and protocol• Created multiple new resources used for Reno & Cavanaugh’s basic office employee training and protocol

• Updated existing filing systems and implemented new standards of organization for CSIA employees, documents, and resources• Organized and completed mass Congressional mailings for CSIA employee events and lobbying efforts• Faxed time-sensitive information and client correspondence and updated document databases on a daily basis• Conducted daily media research for press releases and issue-related lobbying efforts • Took minutes and attended weekly member conference calls to help meet important deadlines and the daily needs of various employees, clients, and members

• Gathered data and helped develop, write, and publish various innovative articles and columns for Symantec’s main internal employee web news resource• Assisted in informing employees worldwide regarding important products, protocol, policies, updates, upcoming corporate events, and new standards of procedures• Wrote and formatted multiple pictures, columns, and documents in Word and maintained department employee spreadsheets in Excel

• Drafted and edited pleadings and other client correspondence, documents, contracts, and mailings• Answered and directed client inquiries and maintained light bookkeeping and filing on attorney’s behalf

• Worked with students and families teaching professional equine care and hunter jumper equitation • Helped run horse camps in Yorktown, VA and conducted group and private lessons for various ages and skill levels• Trained and showed multiple school horses, helped with all barn work, and extremely experienced with all levels of equine care, handling, and show preparation
