He assembles a group of stellar mentors who graciously volunteer their time each year to teach their craft to aspiring MMJs and anchors. News directors, agents, reporters, anchors, photographers, assignment editors, and more act as the mentors to offer us students valuable education and insight into all areas of the news business from various, diverse perspectives. Hal also enlists the help of LAPD, Anaheim Police, LACFD, and LAX PIOs to stage a major news event that unfolds during the first portion of the workshop. We attended mock press conferences, asked questions, and took notes to piece together the breaking news.
