I managed a team of 13 journalists though the 2005 suicide bombings in London, several general elections, riots, the trans-Atlantic bomb plot which changed air travel, terror plots across Europe, a royal wedding and the Olympics. During the same time, I also kept up my reporting and writing on the security/intelligence beat which included breaking stories about the prison camp in Guantanamo Bay, terror plots, rifts between U.S. and U.K. intelligence and an investigation into the veracity of the F.B.I.'s most wanted list. Outside of London, I reported on Haiti's earthquake, Benazir Bhutto's return to Pakistan and several riveting G-8 summits across Europe. I'm currently on sabbatical and finishing my master's at Cambridge in July.

Edited copy from 32 different countries across the Caribbean and Latin America while managing a large team of correspondents and stringers across the region. Also routinely reported and broke several stories in Haiti and the U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo Bay where I led a successful F.O.I lawsuit against the Pentagon to obtain tribunal transcripts and reported several other award-winning stories about the harsh interrogation tactics practiced at the camp. Awarded the Polk for Foreign Reporting in Haiti and three others for my investigative pieces on Guantanamo.

Worked as a reporter in the Miami, Little Rock and Boston bureaus doing everything from writing college basketball briefs to reporting on Miami's drug crime, the Whitewater controversy in Arkansas and the cod conundrum in New England's fisheries.

Started as an intern to help report on South Africa's all-race elections which brought Nelson Mandela to power. Eventually I was hired as a reporter to help with the coverage of South Africa's transition from Apartheid and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
