I am leading the team running the 35th annual British Juggling Convention, set for Easter 2025. The British Juggling Convention (A.K.A. the BJC) is an annual Juggling convention held in a different town or city in Britain every year, organised by volunteer groups. The event is for all forms of juggling and object manipulation, plus many other circus skills. The British Juggling Convention (BJC) is an annual multi-day festival of juggling and circus arts. It attracts 500-1000 people from across the globe to perform, teach, experiment, develop, network, and play. The BJC provides fantastic practice space, shows, workshops, competitions, traders and more.

I started at Diakrit as the first and sole in-house counsel in Jan 2018. Diakrit is a tech firm with Swedish roots that's been based in south east Asia for over 15 years, made of 15 companies in 8 countries. In October '16, Diakrit was acquired by News Corporation. Diakrit's founders bought the corporation back from News in August '18, the third company to ever do that. 1. GDPR PreparationMy intial focus was preparing the company for GDPR. The firm has significant Scandinavian and Australian client bases, whilst operations are based in Thailand, which provided several obstacles. I worked with the company founders, the IT and HR teams, law firms in various jurisdictions and the legal teams from News' NYC, London and Sydney offices to ensure compliance. My tasks included auditing the firm's systems and knowledge, drafting Data Protection Agreements with suppliers and clients and new privacy&cookie policies, implementing response plans and guidelines for all the company's departments and ongoing review duties.2. Corporate BuyoutDirectly after the GDPR deadline, I began working with the company founders on a corporate buyout. I worked with various law firms in Thailand, Hong Kong, Sweden and Australia on the cross-border issues, and administrated changes in directorships and shareholders. 3. Drafting ContractsAside from the above major developments, I have: - drafted all significant client agreements as well as many new template agreements to be used in our markets; - drafted an innovative BPO agreement from scratch, and aided the negotiation process with the client; - managed the implementation of a new contract for our photographer network in Sweden, Denmark and Norway; and - worked to protect the firm's IP in various countries.4. Other DutiesI have been directly responsible for negotiating and managing all insurance for the global network of companies (everything from D&O liability to all employees' health insurance).

At Mishcon I assisted on many varied cases. I worked predominantly with the Private Litigation team, but took many opportunities to assist with (i) reputation management & defamation protection, (ii) the Article 50 High Court and Supreme Court case, (iii) art law, (iv) non-contentious charity structuring, and (v) immigration law. In the main, I had many opportunities to work with the UK Litigation process. This included: • preparing for trials and Freezer discharge hearings; • generating statements of costs for hearings• managing day to day correspondence - drafting, forwarding to stakeholders, administration;• drafting witness statements and heads of terms; and • administrating access to confidential disclosure in a complex multi-party litigation. I took a forward role in CFA matters, where the costs must be more carefully managed so I dealt directly with clients and counsel.

After my LPC, I secured a role as Office Manager at a boutique Private Client/General commercial firm. The parameters of the role were very wide, including: facilities management, front of house, IT & telecoms support, fee earner support and many paralegal tasks. Paralegal responsibilities included research roles, bundling and case management, attending client meetings and drafting correspondence. A notable task was redrafting the firm's website Terms and Conditions.My skills in self management and adaptivity blossomed. The role required proactivity, tight organisational skills and conscientious work attitude, all of which I executed with diligence and professionally.The role came to an end when Ross & Craig merged with DMH Stallard.

As a part of Liverpool John Moore University's Law Society committee for two years running, I helped many legal students build relationships within their cohort, with their lecturers and with the industry they hoped to work in. As Social Secretary, my focus was showing empathy, compassion and providing some fun for the students. On top of this, we arranged many events with local solicitors, barristers and in-house counsel for the student body. Through my work and the work of my committee, the Law Society won the Best Society award 2010 at the LJMU Society Award ceremony. The next year, I was asked by the previous year's Vice President to stand as his VP and assist with all key decisions as well as my own remit of overseeing all event planning.
