I've been hooked on writing and communicating from my very first byline, which I got at age 7 in the Oakland Tribune's "Aunt Elsie" column. It featured stories and drawings from elementary-school-age children, and I was amazed that it was possible to get stories out to the public . . . who knew?Then at age 19, I got my very first real job -- in the public relations department of a major San Francisco bank -- where I discovered you could make a career of publicizing people and businesses. Again, who'd a thunk it? For me, the die was cast, I wanted to spend my time finding and disseminating stories worth telling!Over the past 25 years, I've been fascinated with issues of aging -- both for individuals and society. I've focused my recent efforts on promoting the best in senior living and long-term care, developing communications strategies, campaigns, and a myriad of communications tools to assist providers to generate inquiries, reach occupancy and revenue goals, and build brand awareness and public goodwill. I've had the opportunity to craft the full gamut of promotional vehicles: ads, press releases, brochures, direct mail, speeches, video, and special events. Currently, I’m privileged to be a part of the Senior Living Foresight team. Initially, I wrote and edited blog posts, but now I produce and host our podcast – still on a quest to tell worthwhile stories!
