Assistant Professor responsible for two courses. One about configuration and management of networks (CGR - http://tele1.dee.fct.unl.pt/cgr) also covering Software Defined Networking with syllabus and materials created by me. And the other (RIT II) covering the application layer of the Internet. I also teach in other courses introductory to computer networks. My research work is performed both at the University and the Instituto de Telecomunicações in international projects and mainly concentrares in Networking science, Machine Learning and routing models applied in software defined networking. I have been the advisor of several MSc. students researching in this area and I am currently leading a scientific research project.

In this period I have taught laboratory classes of two telecommunication courses - Introduction to Telecommunications (An Introduction to signal Processing) and Telecommunication Systems (Covers Physical and Data link layers and also the Medium Acess Control Sublayer). I have also taught laboratory classes in an Introductory C programming course. I have created the syllabus and materials for a new course called configuration and management of networks, covering switching and routing configuration, network managing and software defined networking. I occasionally lecture intensive network managing and configuration courses. My research work concentrates in Internet architectures, routing models, traffic engineering, QOs and network management. That research has lead to several published results in renowned conference proceedings. Also in the course of this research I have been co-advisor of several MSc. students and developed the published work that I will present to obtain my Phd.

Pursuing funding for research projects. Lead scientist in a Software Defined Networking research project. Scientific scholarships mentoring.

Where I have participated in the design of network management software for Carrier Ethernet networks. I have performed work in the definition of the interaction between the software and the network elements for the creation of services based in MPLS over Ethernet. I also contributed as the networking system engineer for the design of an integrated IP TV solution.

Worked in the Almada Digital City and PRIME/SARP projects developing web based platforms for citizen interaction with the city hall. Also during this period I performed research work in network security and software agents that was published.

Implementing, maintaining and managing large Enterprise computer networks.

I participated in a project of an Analog microelectronic signal processor where I contributed with the design of a very low voltage comparator that was closely related with some research undergone during my graduation and published in a highly reputed conference.
