In this position I taught students diagnosed with Autism and communication differences. This position included using researched based techniques to teach students many skills including reading and math. This was a semester long term substitute position teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade students.

In this position I taught students on an individual and small group basis while focusing on specific skills. I taught math and reading to students from 2nd to 8th grade, which includes ongoing assessment of skill development. I emphasized assisting students with motivation to improve skill level and metacognition abilities. The curriculum is specifically tailored to each student; data was collected for each task and IPads are utilized so that students learn tasks at a variable rate until mastery. This approach is accountable for student learning and they love it!

In this position I taught students in a lower elementary classroom. These students were in first, second and third grade and their lessons were taught in small groups. Individual lessons and full class lessons were also taught including music, physical education and art. Also implemented were interventions to help students with reading and math. This position included creating curriculum; completing report cards and conducting parent teacher conferences. The students also performed their winter concert under my direction and we participated in field trips. Each week my newsletter was emailed to each family and it included pictures. Now I am on their call list when a teacher needs a substitute.
