Support MENA Director in managing CIPE’s MENA team of around 40 staff across the region. Directly manage the Maghreb sub-regional team, with projects in Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia that support a wide range of business organizations in serving their members and advocating policies for thriving economies.• Work with the MENA Director to shape regional strategy, analyze staffing decisions and needs and represent the team at the organizational level as needed.• Mentor and advise junior staff on work products and professional development • Oversee implementation of all Maghreb projects• Engage with regional partner organizations on strategic and operational questions • Develop and deliver training (often in French) to help local associations professionalize and increase impact. Provided technical assistance and implementation support to combatant demobilization and reintegration (D&R) projects in Burundi, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and to the Burundi Community Decentralization Program (PRADECS), from headquarters and through frequent in-country supervision trips lasting four to six weeks. • Identified and assisted in resolution of complex technical and strategic issues hampering project implementation, including: contract and procurement issues; cost category overruns and budget reallocation; implementation challenges preventing provision of medical rehabilitation to handicapped ex-combatants. • Reviewed reports, evaluations and other monitoring and evaluation products, and suggested means to improve their quality, content and presentation.• Engaged in strategic and technical consultations, alone and as part of a team, with a broad range of government and international representatives concerning D&R implementation in the context of national peace and development efforts. • Conceived new outcome indicators for PRADECS, and rationalized and redesigned its results framework and M&E plan.
