As Trauma PI Coordinator/Registry Consultant, my task and goal was to have SRMC as a Provisional Level lll Trauma Center by the end of the year. I worked closely with the Trauma Program Manager, hospital administration, directors, managers, physicians and nursing staff with a team approach to start up the Trauma Performance Improvement program. I implemented the trauma activation plan and trauma paging system, and the suggestion of building a helipad (completed December 2016). Discussed with the trauma committee what performance improvements are to be met and as well as exceed expectations according to the Tennessee State Trauma Program and the American College of Surgeons-orange book, the type of data to be tracked and to ensure the physicians had ATLS and for the nurses to participate in TNCC as well as other educational needs and proper credentials . As of October 2016, SRMC, was designated as a Provisional Level lll Trauma Center, in which the state will come back in one year to designated them as a Level lll trauma center. Show less
