Profile bio

About Pan Chen

I have earned my Ph.D. from Auburn University, and completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago. Working from a strong foundation in academic research, I have played many roles supporting research and evaluation projects in social service and healthcare settings, from researcher/evaluator, manager, analyst, to trainer and process facilitator. What I particularly enjoy about my work is being able to collaborate with teams with distinct professional backgrounds and take the leadership to identify the right questions to ask, the most relevant data and analytical methods, and the most effective approach to communicate with and empower a diverse variety of audiences. I developed processes integrating data visualizations grounded in sound analytic methods into data quality tracking, program fidelity monitoring, performance evaluation, and service and care redesign. By taking an analytical approach that focuses on fostering various levels of stakeholders’ own insights on the subject matter and empowering them to achieve their goals, I helped my former employers and current clients to substantially save the resources spent on research and evaluation projects. My strong knowledge in both the conceptual and technical aspects of the entire research and evaluation cycle coupled with my outstanding management and communication skills also enabled me to effectively manage the research and evaluation projects and bridge the communication gaps across various levels of teams and between technical and non-technical audiences, greatly enhancing the quality of work delivered.

Listed skills include Data Analysis, Psychology, Program Evaluation, Training, and 15 others.
