The Winter Adapted Games (WAG) is an annual event organized by students in the Queen's School of Kinesiology and Health Studies and School of Rehabilitation Therapy, where Kingston community members with physical and intellectual disabilities come together for a fun-filled day of physical activity and non-competitive games. Our mission is to provide children and adults with disabilities who may otherwise miss out on the opportunity to engage in physical activity an environment that allows them to participate in physical activity and facilitate social interactions amongst the participants and our volunteers. As the incoming co-chair of WAG, I am excited to continue the success of WAG through collaborating with my co-chair and committee members, as well as provide a welcoming environment in which my committee members can grow and learn.

- Shadow certified athletic therapists (CAT) in the clinic, at practices, and at home and away games- Assigned to work with the Varsity Women's soccer team to provide athlete-centred care and return to play protocol- Act as a first responder during practices and games - Responsible for pre- and post-game taping, icing, and stretching- Oversee and care for athletes' injuries from the onset of injury to full recovery - Work one-on-one with athletes to monitor the progress of the injury and ensure that proper care and attention is being provided - Collaborate with the athletic therapy team to assess whether injured athletes are eligible to return to play

The Equity and Wellness Commissioner works with the Physical Health Education and Kinesiology Students' Association, the governing body for members of the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies (SKHS). The Equity and Wellness Commissioner is elected by their peers to represent them, voice their concerns, and advocate for EDI and mental health in decision-making processes between PHEKSA, the Alma Mater Society, and the SKHS and faculty staff. Furthermore, I am responsible for working with the student body, the PHEKSA top executives, and the Alma Mater Society to prioritize the wellbeing of students, promote equity, diversity, and inclusivity in our school and on campus, and address students' concerns to make our program a safe space and a community for BIPOC students and students of marginalized groups to feel accepted and thrive in. In addition, the Equity and Wellness Commissioner chairs the Equity and Wellness council and is responsible for hiring council members, which plans and organizes events that aims to promote equity and wellness in the SKHS.

- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver client-centred goal setting and life skills programs aimed at promoting independent living and developing complex life skills to clients with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in an outpatient setting - Support outpatients with varying abilities and diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), brain injury, down’s syndrome, global developmental delay, ADHD, and epilepsy- Assess the needs, abilities, and progress of clients on an individual basis through surveying clients, direct observation, and liaison with family members - Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing recreation programs for our life skills programs of varying levels and virtual recreation programs - Create a fun and safe environment for clients aged 15-21 that promotes growth, independence, peer-to-peer connections, and supports clients in their transition from young adult to adulthood - Perform regular client documentation in Meditech
