Visited two operational Oil Rigs of ONGC Sibsagar out of their 18 operational rigs under Assam asset i.e. E-1400-1 and EV- 2000-5 series rig. Got a proper knowledge of how the drilling operations are executed. Got to know about Power Packs/DG sets(Alternators used to supply power on Drilling Sites) and the different kinds of motors used during ONSHORE DRILLING i.e. MUD PUMPS, DRAW WORKS and Shale Shakers and Agitators. Also, became familiar with the term VFD (i.e. Variable Frequency Drive) rig EV-2000-5. Studied about the Single Line Diagram of E-1400-1 rig.
