As a hands-on Technical Architect, I lead and mentored a team of eight developers. The team I lead worked in the XP setup and was focused on delivering critical features and improving the scalability of the platform. Apart from the technical contribution and managing the team, my other responsibilities included process improvement and helping the product team.

Alef is building a microservice-based platform that facilitates the development of multiple products. As a Senior Developer, I helped clean up the inherited legacy code base. Code coverage was eventually increased to 95%, tech debt was addressed while continuously shipping new features. Practices like TDD, Clean Code, and tactical DDD were employed. As the codebase stabilized, we started employing strategic DDD principles to improve the service boundaries.

As a senior backend developer I am helping viu.com develop scalable backend apis so as to build a platform that would support multiple clients.* Clean up non-covered legacy code by virtue of increasing test coverage* Make apis restful, carve modules into micro-services where ever appropriate* Improve response time of apis by reducing network calls, re-structure database schemas etc* Keep improving quality of the code, optimise database schemas without affecting live traffic (at peak serving close to 1000 requests per seconds)* Automate anything everything that increases team productivity* While adding new features and refactoring the code provide production support with quick response time
