PMC for GASCO (Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd) for Compressed Natural Gas project in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, UAE

Have been associated in the first commercially successfull CBM project in India from concept to commissioning. This greenfield project involved Exploration, Production and Distribution of CBM (Coal Bed Methane) gas. CBM is Natural gas with 97% Methane extracted from the coal bed.The scope of work & responsibility involved:Engineering and planning for downstream activities for setting up of CNG Stations, Gas Gathering stations, pipelines (MDPE & Steel) connecting the CBM gas wells to GGS and from GGS to City Gate Station (CGS).Design, Engineering, Construction and Commissioning of Gas Gathering Station to process 12 MMSCFD of Coal Bed Methane Gas. Laying of more than 200 Kms of MDPE pipes of sizes ( 63 mm to 350 mm) for connecting the CBM gas wells to the GGS.Laying of 80 Kms of 12 inch steel pipeline from Kulti to Durgapur,Planning, designing, monitoring and expediting of construction activities of downstream activities of CBM project in liaison with Govt. Authorities (CCOE, DGMS, WBPCB), Consultants and contractors. Coordinating the preparation and finalization DFR (Detailed Feasibility Report) for City Gas Distribution for the City of Asansol, Durgapur and Burdwan.Operation and Maintenance of Gas Gathering Station and CNG Stations.Introduction of NGV vehicles ( Cars & Autos) in a new market. Worked with OEM and NGV convertors including government approvals.

Indraprastha Gas Limited is the operating company for distribution and retailing of CNG and Piped Natural Gas to the City of Delhi and the National Capital Region. The company was mandated to supply CNG to the complete public transport system of New Delhi. Today more than 400,000 CNG vehicles including 10,000 buses are being fuelled with CNG by IGL. IGL is a joint venture of GAIL (India) Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.I was involved in this landmark project since its inception in 1999. Major key responsibilities were;Preparation of Technical specifications for CNG equipments like Compressors, Dispensers, Cascades, SS tubing, valves and fittings. Installation and Commissioning of CNG stations.The compressors used were of capacity 1200 and 600 SCMH, three stage reciprocating compressors driven by either Gas Engine or Electric Motor. The dispensers used for Car are 3-bank priority and the one used for Bus are single bank priority. Was involved in setting up compression capacity of 2.0 Million Kgs/day. Further worked on CNG expansion plan by remodelling existing CNG stations, DTC Bus depots.

Installation of CNG Re-Fuelling Stations in Delhi for Indraprastha Gas Limited2. In-situ Combustion Project for Enhanced Oil Recovery in Mehsana, Gujarat for ONGC. 3. Mid-East Integrated Steel Plant, Jajpur, Orissa4. MTBE Cracker Project, Taloja, New Mumbai for Lubrizol India Limited • Conceptualization of process schemes and preparation of P&IDs. • Design of Heat Exchangers and selection of pumps. • Preparation of engineering specifications/ drawings, material requirement. • Equipment layout and piping design. • Erection, Testing and commissioning of equipment and piping. • Commissioning of the complete plant.

Training at Training Institute, Bokaro Steel Plant in all areas of the steel plant followed by specialized training in Coke-Ovens and By-Product plant.

Area involved in:Operation of Propylene Oxide and Propylene Glycol Plant.Design, Erection, Testing, Commissioning and operation of pilot Plants for manufacture of Propylene Chlorohydrin and Ethyl Ethers of Propylene Glycol. Study, implementation and monitoring of treatment programme for cooling water and chilled water system.
