I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. My interest lies in treating spinal deformity, degenerative conditions of the spine, extradural spinal tumors, and trauma. I also have an interest in motion preservation surgery using cervical disc replacements, cervical laminoplasty procedures and minimally invasive techniques. When possible and appropriate, minimally invasive techniques generally allow for faster recovery and decreased pain.My approach to patient care hinges on mutual respect and shared decision making. A complete and open discussion regarding diagnoses, treatment options, alternatives, and risks is vital to that process. I believe the patient, their family, and the physician should feel comfortable and respected in all interactions.I completed fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco, where I received comprehensive training on all aspects of spine pathology. I completed my orthopedic surgery residency and internship at the University of Southern California. I earned my medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where I graduated cum laude. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis.
