At the age of 16, I earned my driver’s license and my first job was as a cashier at Harris Teeter grocery store. While the work experience was helpful, after a few months I realized that I wanted to explore something different. I searched for a part time job that was preferably outdoors because at the time I was very active in outdoor activities. I applied at a new car wash that had just opened near my home and was fortunate enough to be selected. Not only was it outdoors but it was also customer facing and provided a little bit of sales experience offering customers monthly plans. As I started college, they allowed me the opportunity to continue working there when I was home on breaks throughout the year. That experience allowed me to learn a number of skills that serve me well today and will do so into the future. Today, I am sophomore at High Point University majoring in Sales and additionally, I am in search of a sales internship with a corporate partner for the summer, that would allow me the opportunity to achieve additional experience in strengthening my knowledge in the field of sales.
