My role at CCW was to increase recognition of the environment and outdoor recreation sector in supporting national social inclusion, quality of life and health goals.This involved providing strategic advice and guidance to the Welsh Government as well as both Members and Senior Officers of public agencies across Wales. In addition, I was responsible for developing and supervising social research projects to help improve the evidence base relating to nature and health as well as guiding practical projects ‘on the ground’.I also played a key role in nurturing new partnerships as well as utilising appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools to capture CCW’s contribution to health and well-being in Wales and further afield.

I was a member of the Senior Management Team with responsibility for a budget of approximately £3m (predominantly ERDF funding) and a team of 15 staff (including marketing & communications staff).I was responsible for the delivery of physical landscape projects across disadvantaged parts of South Wales (Caerphilly, Torfaen & Newport). In addition, I played a key role in improving the governance & partnership arrangements at the Trust during my employment.

Responsible for managing a team of 3 staff and the associated C-1st budget – including office arrangements & project funding. Responsible for delivering regeneration goals of the local community through local partnerships, being accountable to the local community and providing a professional ‘front of house’ service.

Responsible for the management of 12 staff and the strategic development of the Council's sporting services to meet wider regeneration aims of the city (crime reduction, improved economic performance and increased health benefits). Also, responsible for the section’s budget.

Leading social justice work across SCW, assessing grant-aid applications, linking SCW activities with Government priorities, supporting LA Leisure Centres to implement Best Value, designing national training programmes, managing regional staff, devising briefs & assessing tenders, and liaising with PR and Marketing Team to design branding and promotional materials plus consultation with media and sponsors.
