Did not get an opportunity to be involved in any development work until 1994 when I started working on P&O Properties Development Limited's development portfolio including Middlemarch Business Park, Warwick. Joined Evershed & Tomkinson as a trainee in 1987, fresh from Chester Law School. At that stage the firm had only 2 offices in Birmingham and Solihull. Never imagined that I would still be at the firm 30 years later and we would have 62 offices in 28 jurisdictions. Spent 6 months each in the traditional trainee seats - real estate, litigation, corporate and private client. Enjoyed both corporate and real estate. Tough choice but decided to qualify into real estate.
