Responsible for analytical technology strategy for the Electrical & Telecommunications global business unit (GBU) as well as leading the development, implementation, and management of manufacturing process analyzers. Current technology development efforts are focused on enhanced real time detection and characterization of microscopic defects (<100 um) in extruded film and pellets. The goal of these efforts is to provide real time measurement capabilities that provide sufficient characterization details throughout the manufacturing process to enable a step change improvement in product cleanliness through model based process control.

Six Sigma Black Belt Project Leader responsible for coordinating an umbrella of projects to globally standardize product specifications (feature name, test method, method conditions, and unit of measure) globally across Dow Plastics Division working with multiple internal functional groups (Research, Technical Support & Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Technology Centers). Project resulted in more than a 50% reduction in the number of unique specifications and laid the groundwork for the ongoing effort to standardize the use of validated methods across all plastics QA/QC labs. Global At-Line Film Analyzer FTIR Technology Steward responsible for management of strategic technology roadmap covering most effective technology (models, hardware, software) development, implementation, and management for global network of plastics process mid-FTIR analyzers for the measurement of physical and chemical product quality parameters. As part of that role, developed and globally implemented a Universal FTIR density model (consolidating more than 20 models) covering more than 600 products ranging from low density (LDPE) to high density (HDPE) produced using multiple reaction technologies and catalyst families. This work laid the groundwork for further reducing the overall portfolio of models deployed by more than 50% and the reduction in development costs by almost 70%.Global Plastic Manufacturing QC lab Rheology Testing Techology Steward responsible for updating, implementing and patenting a decades old rheological analyzer system design (hardware/software) and analytical method used to support the manufacture of High Pressure Low Density PolyEthylene resulting in the global introduction of a new product property referred to as Melt Elasticity.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining lab analytical instrumentation and methods for multiple world scale production plant analytical labs. Developed custom Lab FTIR user interface to automate the process of data collection, processing, quantitation, and reporting of additive and product properties. In addition, led the effort to develop and implement an integrated analytical system to prepare and measure product cleanliness using CCD line scan camera technology.
