Zonal Head, Business Banking Group –East ( SVP II Grade)Responsibilities: Managing the BBG Asset portfolio of INR 11 billion of SME borrowers. Responsible for acquisition & portfolio management leading a team size of 45 of Regional Heads, RMs & Analysts. Member of Zonal Credit Committee.

Responsibilities: Managed the Corporate lending portfolio of L&T Finance in Eastern India, reporting to Country Head-Corporate Finance Group. CFG handles large corporate, emerging corporate & SME borrowers. Responsible for building brand equity for the bank aspirant in Eastern India, client acquisition, credit appraisal, operations & administration.  Member of credit committee for exposure up to INR100 million. Lead a team of 12 including relationship managers, analysts & operations staff based in multiple locations in East. Managed a portfolio size of INR 6 billion comprising groups such as Emami, Apeejay, Century Ply, HNG etc with multiple product offerings- LAS, LAP, Leasing & Term loans. Gained significant exposure in restructuring of corporate loans, recovery & collection.

Responsibilities: Managing the mid-corporate portfolio in Eastern India, reporting to Business Head (SVP-Mid Corporate) in Mumbai. Mid Corporate team caters to companies with TO between INR1.5billion-7.5billion. Responsible for client acquisition and credit appraisal. Working with a team of analysts in appraising credit proposals & presenting to Credit Committees. Handling clients in infrastructure, logistics, steel & ancillary, real estate, mining, auto ancillary, hospitals, education, Life Sciences, Renewable Energy, Software sectors. Monitoring of existing portfolio for compliance. Working closely with the Forex, Business Banking teams to exploit opportunities in mid-corporate portfolio. Supporting Capital Market Team in fund raising programs of clients through PE, QIP & Debt Syndication. Handling foreign currency loans and ECBs to suit funding requirements of clients. Handling documentation, regulatory and legal aspects in foreign currency deals. Managing a loan book of INR 23 billion. Heading a team of 3 comprising of one Relationship Manager & two credit analysts.Achievements: Funding an overseas acquisition deal involving funding of Intellectual Property Rights for a Life sciences company based in US. Funding of an infrastructure project in Libya involving Working Group Approval. Funding overseas acquisitions of an industrial pump manufacturing company in UK & South Africa. Funding acquisition of coal mine in South Africa.

Responsibilities: Expand the scope of rating business in Eastern Region among Large & Mid corporates, SMEs/SSIs and build brand equity. Work as a lead analyst for corporate cases and a support analyst for bank and NBFC cases. Prepare rating rationales, make presentations to rating committees, prepare press releases. Maintain surveillance on all existing clients in the East throughout the term of the rating. Explore avenues for generating business from SME & SSI sectors through extensive network with banks, trade associations, Government Deptts. Build an extensive network with Promoters /CEOs / CFOs of corporate houses & banks in the Eastern Region. Headed a team of three analysts.Achievements:  Developed business from scratch to reach a fee income of INR10million in 2007. Won major mandates for rating Tier I & Tier II capital for banks in the region. Initiated several new corporate relationships & conducted their rating exercise. Won several Bank loan rating mandates under Basel II requirements and IPO grading mandate. Tied up with all three PSU banks headquartered in Kolkata for SSI/SME rating and Bank loan ratings. Was part of the team, which developed the internal rating model for SSI’s, & was a member on the rating committee for SSI ratings.

Responsibilities: Expand the scope of correspondent banking business among cooperative banks, Regional rural banks through Cheque Drawing Arrangement, Cash Management Services, CSGL and Dmat relationships in Eastern Region. Investment advisory services through managing client bank’s SLR & Non-SLR investment requirements by trading in G-Secs, T Bills, bonds & call money. Creation of assets by lending to cooperative credit societies for on-lending to their members. Creation of short term lines of credit for cooperative banks. Managing transaction banking relationships of insurance companies in Guwahati and Patna. Handle agri -corporate relationships in poultry, jute and tea.Achievements: Doubled float balance to INR250million, raised low cost deposits of INR4billion. Created and retained market share of 95% in North Eastern States. Earned Net Interest Income of INR21million in FY04-05. Consistently rated as the fastest growing region for both years. Headed a team of five relationship managers in multiple locations.
