• Designed and developed a 15.5” diameter Angular Spring Design (ASD) clutch assembly for a major truck OEM in the US; created 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using Creo Parametric 3.0 (Pro-E). Performed FEA.
• Increased the fatigue life of a Retainer Plate (sheet-metal part of the ASD clutch) from 1 million to 2 million loading cycles by designing a new concept for the component, and hence solved major failure issues with.
• Solved the problem of excessively high release load (critical performance characteristic) in a 13” diameter clutch variant by conducting root cause analysis of failed assemblies and proposing modifications in the.
• Conceptualized a cast-metal variant of a 15.5” diameter clutch assembly which is compatible with diaphragm springs and hence replaced the previously used coil spring models. The design reduced the number of parts used.
• Conducted performance testing and validation of prototype clutch assemblies as per Design Verification Plans. Used accelerated test setups (endurance, clutch dynamometer, hysteresis, clutch comprehensive testing) to.
• Converted customer requirements into Critical to Quality (CTQs) design parameters by performing engineering calculations.
