In this role, I was responsible for ensuring consistency in the standard cost of production parts and finished vehicles throughout the use of group mainframe systems. I was responsible for the recording and reconciliation of accounting data regarding inventory and transport costs. I was also assigned to a number of ad hoc projects such as comparison of the standard cost of the Peugeot 206 model between the three production sites that build the model and the analysis of the consumption of materials such as paints and solvents, where the usage per vehicle may vary.

In this role, I was responsible for controlling a team of Operators and Material Planners, assigning them tasks and motivating them to achieve deadlines, presenting team briefings and identifying actions to be taken through working groups. Trained in best practice techniques such as 5S and problem solving, I was reacting daily to unforeseen issues such as material supply disruption and machinery breakdowns. I was also presenting reports and demonstrating procedures to the team.

In this role, I was responsible for the logistics co-ordination of 600+ parts (Body In White components) from Europe and scheduling of raw materials, ensuring that the parts arrive JIT (Just In Time) at the Peugeot 206 assembly line and monitoring stock levels. Duties included daily liaison with suppliers, maintenance of Bills of material, anticipation of suppliers defaulting on deliveries, and subsequent organisation of emergency transport, by road or air. The work was a mixture of office and factory based, using Peugeot computer network, Pegase & Hermes (AS 400 software) and monitoring Kanban systems
