My husband and I own a gift shop in Crystal River. The shop is located at The Heritage Village on Citrus Ave. We have been in business almost 10 years. It was my husband's idea to open the shop as he is the kind of person that just can not sit still!! He loves what he is doing with it and it gives his life meaning and purpose. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone is friendly. We are known as "The Home of the Manatee". Manatees come in during the winter months and it is quite the site to see! Our shop specializes in Home Decor and Manatee/Nature themed gifts.I, myself, am devoted to my Lord and Savior, Jesus. My family comes next. I am a Grandmother and a GreatGrandmother! I am an upbeat person and always try to see the best in others. I try to always be "the helper" in many situations; which some times gets me in trouble.I am typically an organizer and have been known to organize your desk while I am standing in front of it talking to you!I love animals and detest anyone that may harm them. I have always had a dog or cat in my life and at one point have had 3 dogs and 1 cat. We currently have 2 VERY SPOILED dogs!I was born and raised in Florida and have never wanted to live any where else.I grewe up with 3 older brothers and 2 younger brothers. I am the ONLY GIRL out of 6 kids! My husband is from Virginia and he got sand in his shoes way back in the 70s and never went back! We met in Ocala at Woolworth's. I always tell people that I got my husband from a 5 and dime store! Virginia is a beautifl state and we take our RV to camp there as often as we are able. Our favorite spot to camp is Hungry Mother's State Park in Marion, VA. This is not far from where my husband grew up so we are able to visit his two brothers and their wives during our camping trip.
