Responsible for overall management of the operations support team and management of the client’s production applications and databases, batch scheduling and problem resolution.

Primarily responsible for day to day management of IT operations at Dal. I had a staff of 39 managers and technicians reporting to me and we were responsible for maintenance and operation of the Dal IT infrastructure. This infrastructure includes three data centers and all the Dal centralized servers and High Performance clusters; all networking between and internal to the 100 buildings at Dal; as well as all Dal telephone and mobility systems. Led several large projects including these three:• Installation of wireless networking across all four campuses and buildings ,• Responsible for the IT infrastructure integration with Truro Agriculture College becoming part of Dal Sept 2012 (letter from the President acknowledging my efforts)• Major renovation and modernization of the main data center to industry standards (TIA 942)

Retired as a Lieutenant Colonel - Had varied positions over a twenty year career:Manager/leader of three independent IT/telecommunications units, one of which was 230 in size, 150 military and 80 civilian personnel,Project/Program manager of different multi-year, multi-million dollar projectsStaff officer in both policy and IT advisor roles
