About Patrick Smith

My favorite childhood picture is of me and my dad at one of his job sites. He founded his carpentry business when I was one. He taught me the basics of carpentry early on: how to read a tape measure and how to use a hammer. He taught me to consider the task at hand and would say repetitiously, "I shouldn't have to tell you what to do. I shouldn't have to ask you for tools or lumber. You should think of the next steps and be ready." The lessons grew in sophistication as I got older. Dad taught me to build walls, floors, and roofs. He would quiz me at home by describing a construction scenario, and then have me explain the proper building technique. Those lessons taught me to think abstractly and apply sound reasoning to solve problems while operating as a perceptive team member. I am where I am today because of Dad's mentorship and influence. He taught me valuable, practical skills, but more importantly, he set me on course for a successful career. My carpentry experiences also showed the impact I could have on others' lives by seeking to understand their needs, and leveraging my skills to solve their problems. I loved the gratification of helping others realize years-long home improvement dreams, and helping unhappy, reluctant people repair their homes. These experiences instilled me with a desire to make a positive impact, and I have worked hard to realize that aspiration. I took that desire to Michelin and Amazon, where I have been fortunate to lead initiatives that make life easier for customers and sellers while spurring revenue growth and improving operational efficiencies. One example is negotiating new shipping label pricing with FedEx, which saved Amazon Merchant-Fulfillment Network (MFN) Sellers $1.19M over 3 years and boosted MFN's label sales profit by over 100%, directly improving the bottom line. I was raised to be a problem-solver, and I take immense pride in leveraging my skills and innate interests to make a positive impact on others. Please email me at patrick.smith4636@gmail.com about any career opportunities!
