After 25 Years, we’re STILL LOOKING FORWARD: 2023 Silver Anniversary!50 Hoops™ developed over half-dozen “Branded events” over the past 25 years. Beginning in 2021 with the recognition and graduation of 24 LEGENDS joining forces to produce their own versions of 50 Hoops Virtual Workshops They began REPLICATING ALL THE EVENTS WITHIN the 50 Hoops template. These first years have been highly successful. This 50 Hoops LEGENDS transition has allowed 50 Hoops™ to become highly flexible in presenting online African American patient and medical education events in many live, simulated and virtual formats. The uniqueness and creative imagination of our LEGENDS are collectively unmatched by any other African American Patient and Medical Education organization in the nation.50 Hoops™ LEGENDS is now in the unparalleled position to move strongly and with great IMPACT into the future. By allowing for a diversity of ideas within the REPLICATION of 50 Hoops Branded Events (Workshops, Conferences, Health Fairs, Seminars, and Symposiums), 50 Hoops has done what no other Minority patient organization has done in the past. 50 Hoops™ LEGENDS Silver Anniversary (Patient Education) Celebration! As we move into our 25th year, 50 Hoops LEGENDS have a LEGENDS NATIONAL SPEAKERS EXCHANGE of over 100: 50 Hoops LEGENDS speakers, have boldly tested clinical trials recruitment strategies with community stakeholders echoing methodologies for solutions used based upon the 50 Hoops’ decade old:“10 Commandments for Recruiting African Americans Into Clinical Trials.”A. LEGENDS’ Medical Doctors and Nurses with multiple NETWORKS, hosted Workshops," focused upon "African Americans In Clinical Trials (AACT)." From These AACT events, set up ONLINE RESOURCES Guides about SPECIFIC Diseases and Clinical Trials with Finger-Tip Resources. The LEGENDS Resources Guides help narrow down specific clinical trials and resources. Also, since 50 Hoops' LEGEND Doctors and Nurses are coast-to-coast, this helped answer questions further expanding outreach into many African American and underserved communities nationally.B. LEGENDS’ Powerful Stakeholders focused upon The “10 COMMANDMENTS FOR RECRUITING AFRICAN AMERICANS INTO CLINICAL TRIALS” one commandment at a time. This 10-part series focused on creating a strong Local and National support system for both Patients and Researchers and becoming better educated about solutions to the Diversity and Inclusion of African Americans and other Minorities in Clinical Trials. The more education presented, the more participants learned a “new song,” and new SOLUTIONS to Inclusion in clinical trials.C. LEGENDS’ Major Faith-Based Ministries with Strong Community Outreach partnered to include workshops that addressed our Nationally focused Cancers, COVID-19 Vaccine, and clinical trial updates for Caretakers and family members on Cancer and COVID.
