ASCII (Alphabet Supply Chain Intelligence and Innovation):● Developed and designed ETL pipelines using Apache Beam. These pipelines extract data from 30 different business systems through various endpoints such as RPC, Spanner, Dremel, etc. Pipelines run periodically applying business transformations and load the results in google cloud storage. The data is consumed by planning engine to help Planners to improve efficiency in the supply chain planning process through data visualization, and firing ad-hoc analytical queries on the data.

● Developed tool to query lookback hive backup data (7TB per day partition) stored on AWS S3 using Spark SQL on AWS EMR thus enabling users to directly query historical data on S3 without loading it on the in-house cluster. The tool spawns a cluster of desired capacity, triggers hive step on AWS EMR to create external tables pointing to the data stored on S3, submits a spark job to fire SparkSQL queries on tables registered with hive Metastore and copies the result back to S3.● Optimized Spark SQL business query by fighting skewed join thus improving running time from 10 hrs (7TB single partition, 300 node cluster) to 2 hrs (7TB single partition, 10 node cluster)● Designed a data pipeline using Oozie to periodically Sqoop transactional data from Postgres table to Hive and also generating aggregated stats back to Postgres using spark job.● Developed a POC to count hits by an IP address (fetch from Kafka message) in real time over a window of 4 hours which slides every 10 minutes using Spark Structured Streaming so that we can detect suspicious IPs
