I have worked as a retail assistant at Fossil Watches, located at Somerset, Singapore for more than a year. Working there has made me become a better person. I have learnt that people are interesting as there are many different kinds, and it takes multiple types of approaches to each of them. I have leant hoe to communicate and understand people better. I have also learnt that listening plays a big role when you want to have communication in order to engage and connect with them. I learnt to be more responsible, empathetic, and more disciplined at work. There were times I was praised by my work on achieving higher sales but there were also bad times where I couldn't achieve my targets. But instead of dwelling on it, I learned to pick myself up and start over and this process is and must be never ending. I had to end the contract due to Covid 19 last year, as they were only wanting to have full-time staff. I am proficient in languages like English, Chinese, Tamil, and Malay. I speak a little Hindi and Punjabi but I can fully understand the language. I enjoy draawing, reading or writing during my free times too.I was focusing on my 1st semester for a few months after that. I joined as a temperature taker under YY Circle for Capitaland, at IMM Mall and Westgate. Sometimes I would be working at Junction 8 or Lot One if slots were available. I like jobs that involves working or meeting new people in any ways. There were times where some shoppers would not be co-operative, so I learnt how to handle situations like these overtime. Personally, I feel like I have achieved something that I never did until I started working these 2 jobs, which was confidence to speak up, and building connections with people by having good communication skills, and of course, a good personality.
