This role works to transform BeyondTrust customers and partners into product experts and advocates. I am leading activities associated with shaping the learner experience by providing strategic direction to enhance the learner flow of all our training content. I work collaboratively with the BeyondTrust University teams to continuously develop and improve training courses in an agile manner incorporating the latest learning methodologies into course design, delivery, and evaluation. In addition, I connect and collaborate with key stakeholders within the BeyondTrust organization to understand our key learner groups and lead the design of impactful solutions from a training perspective.

This new role focuses on assisting the BeyondTrust University through the change process as we as a team move to a blended learning approach across all our University courses and products. This process will be implemented over several phases and across our product portfolio as it relates to all training activities delivered by my team. I am working closely with our eLearning and Instructor teams to identify changes to current course content and developing a process to manage this change. I am providing guidance utilizing my past experiences to ensure our new process incorporates a real focus on learner engagement and usability of learning content. I am also formulating a training project management process that the entire team can implement for all future training development and/or revision projects.

I started my career at BeyondTrust learning our Remote Support Product. Then I began delivering virtual courses on this product to customers worldwide using the existing content. Using my instructional design expertise, I began to examine the delivery mechanism for this course and implemented changes to the structure and flow to enhance learner engagement and retention. The changes resulted in successful delivery of the new format by me and my colleagues.

This involved travelling around the borough testing front-line NHS staff for PPE FP3 masks and teaching them how to ensure the masks were fitted appropriately. I was also responsible for recording and certifying the results.

An opportunity arose to enhance my skills and understanding of how we support and certify our Field Service Engineers (FSEs) throughout Europe and India. This involved working with the local field organizations to ensure the correct balance of training was being offered out of our three locations across the geography. Offering guidance on learning paths and certification mechanisms to our field managers to ensure their FSEs were fully certified to meet our customers needs. Offering guidance and support to our Technical Support Specialists with preparation for course delivery and managing the day to day activity of the training lab out of the Wilmslow site. I was also responsible for supporting our Mentoring Program on our new product, ensuing it met the business need and working closely with the course developer to ensure level 2 evaluation was introduced and effective.

I was responsible for the UNIFI Software Curriculum for our Field Service Engineers (FSE's). This involved evaluating product enhancements and updates, liaising with the Software teams within Waters, and designing a training solution to update our FSE’s. The training solution was created and evaluated for its effectiveness. A real highlight for me was working with an external consultant (Jeri Devereaux) on a competency model assessment for our UNIFI FSE’s. I presented the results of this assessment to senior management, the training team then received backing to design, implement and evaluate a Mentoring Program based on the skills gaps highlighted as part of this assessment. We also received funds and backing to design real world problems on Virtual Systems with training content to support specific learning outcomes thus creating a safe learning space for our FSE's on UNIFI. This was rolled out successfully and has received very positive feedback from our field organization.

I developed training material for new Mass Spectrometry instrumentation (mainly TOF instruments) and Software Solutions (UNIFI) for Field Service Engineers for Waters Corporation. This involved learning the system/software and then putting together a training course to meet the needs of our Field Service Engineer. Traditionally this has been classroom training, however in the last 3 - 4 years we have been using a blended approach. These blends can involving creating eLearning modules, virtual classrooms workshops, remote access training sessions on instrumentation, and classroom training for more complex aspects. This has really broadened the scope of my role and made it much more challenging and rewarding.
