I am responsible for supporting all phases of enterprise systems business integration, including complex analysis of business process and information systems, definition and documentation of systems requirements, analysis of software performance, implementation and ongoing support of installed systems.

Work closely with technical and business experts to lead projects, and provide operational support tied to automated business applications and reporting needs that support the controller’s business domain. With a focus on business processes and the systems that support those processes, work is done to define the current state, identify improvement opportunities, define and clarify functional and non-functional business requirements, define and execute proper testing scenarios, and establish effective ongoing support. Key Contributions: Spear-headed a project to update and upgrade an important vendor application. The end goal was to complete the quarterly processing one week faster and to reduce manual work. This saved an average 400 hour of work a year. Created and continually maintain a database warehouse used for reporting and analysis. Use MSBI and other business intelligence tools to accomplish creating tabular and multi-dimensional models that would allow the controllers area to drill down and summarize data. Maintaining the data and reports will allow for future analysis and reporting needs for many different areas. Create and maintain reports for the controller’s financial statements and compliance reporting needs. Use a variety of information gathering techniques to gather complex business data requirements from Business teams. Collaborate with teams to research, evaluate and select the data sources and impactful reports. Played an integral role in converting the company from an internal accounting department to an outsourced department. Converted all the reporting and data feeds from the new accounting vendor to ensure smooth transition. This allowed consistent and accurate reporting from the new vendor with minimal disruption for the business.

Accesses, gathers and tracks multiple types of data from a diverse array of information sources. Combines, synthesizes and analyzes data through the creation and execution of metrics, models, reports or other measurements deemed valuable to Northwestern Mutual. Reports on and interprets results which have an impact on program utilization, resource planning, operational efficiencies, project management initiatives, internal and external business trends, and product or corporate strategic direction Key Contributions: Created and maintained reports to track and measure the growth and health of the network field offices by Leveraging SQL and other technical skills to assist with tuning and delivering reports and data extraction. Used a variety of information gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, facilitation, diagrams) to gather complex business data requirements from Business teams. Collaborated with the team to research, evaluate and select the appropriate data sources and impactful reports. Improved team productivity by introducing new and more efficient reports and improving processes – this allowed team members more time to take on new responsibilities.

Accountable for designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining the company’s financial reporting systems and tools. Responsibilities include working with Business Analysts, IT and business partners to gather and understand reporting requirements; determining and implementing report delivery mechanisms; troubleshooting and resolving data problems; training others in the use of pre-defined reports and ad-hoc reporting; and consulting with business partners in designing and developing complex reports. Proficient in MSBI Stack SSAS SSRS and SSIS, SQL, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Cognos Report Studio, and Cognos Workspace Advanced.Also the power user and main support person for the Confluence Unity application for financial and performance reporting.
