I began my unique career journey as a West Point graduate and a U.S. Army officer. While serving in the army, I earned the rank of Captain. As a Signal Corps officer I oversaw the planning and execution of all aspects of a mission's communications. Signal is an essential function in the military where messages must be clear, concise, and actionable. The role translates easily to civilian roles in corporate communications, public/community relations, and crisis management.After separating from the service, I developed a new skill set while serving in a different way - as a military spouse and a mother of three now young men. For two decades, rather than leading teams of soldiers on foreign soil, I have been supporting the families of soldiers under my husband's command, participating in dignitary events, advocating for and educating a neurodiverse child, and single-handedly moving our family across the country with sometimes just a week's notice (9 times!). As such, I have mastered the art of adapting and championing, developed deep patience and empathy, and perfected my resilience and resourcefulness skills.Everything is do-able in my mind!As I enter this third chapter, I'm excited to bring my broad and complementary skills back to the workplace. While I am open to various industries, I seek an organization where clear communications are needed and valued, and a challenging role where I can contribute meaningfully and make a positive impact on the team and its stakeholders.
