Legal concepts and processes can be intimidating for many people. This is especially true for undereducated people; they are either unaware of what they don’t know, or aware, yet lack access to information in a comprehensible format. For +15 years, I have built and run a broad range of legal education programs, including awareness campaigns for people in villages, university legal education programs, and law-related training and capacity building for governments and NGOs. I make complex legal language and concepts simple, culturally relevant, and actionable. And in turn, that builds confidence and creates a foundation and context for more targeted learning and action: • Individuals in villagers have basic tools to help themselves and know the questions to ask; • University students have stronger substantive and analytical skills to prepare them for the job market or for further education; and • Government and project staff build new capabilities to enhance their understanding of the law and their effectiveness.I continually seek opportunities to work with non profits, (particularly those that stress civic responsibility), work with legislative or government policymakers, or mentor young professionals and university students.
