I have spent most of my adult life in retail and software development. I started by learning assembler and languages such as COBOL and C in 1977. In 1980 I began doing some software development in the world of dBASE II for the company’s I worked for in the telecommunication field. In 1983 I decided to start a new business with a partner. We developed software for the aviation industry and designed, installed and supported the network systems it ran on. We used the Unix based AT&T 3B series computers. We were in the process of bringing our company public when the market crashed in 1987.I returned to the retail industry and after 10 years became the Director of Operations for Sears’ Northeast Home Improvements Division. After leaving Sears in 1997 I opened a pet store in Mahopac, New York. This ultimately became a three store chain with the flagship store being a full line 11,000SF pet center with Veterinarian, grooming and dog training services. In 2010 I became the President of Pinogy Corp., a software development company focused on point of sale systems for the pet industry. This was where the concept of the mobile marketing service Petz Mobile was born. In 2012 I left Pinogy to form Big Oyster with my co-founder Sarah Freeman to focus totally on the development and implementation of Petz Mobile.In January of 2020 we were acquired by Deals Media, LLC and have significantly advanced the technology of Petz Mobile. Today we have successfully made Petz Mobile the number one mobile marketing service in the pet industry. Earlier this year we launched Petz Mobile with a brand new technology that allows a manufacturer to offer a coupon directly to a consumer's mobile device and that coupon can be electronically redeemed at a participating pet store through their Point of Sale.
