With nearly three decades of experience in municipal law and management, my tenure as City Attorney for the City of Charlotte North Carolina has been marked by a commitment to strategic and proactive legal counsel and sound risk assessment. Previously, I spent over two decades with the City of Durham, sharpening my expertise in municipal law and leadership that govern cities. My mission is to uphold the law with integrity and provide the City of Charlotte with legal guidance that is both prudent and forward-thinking. My approach is shaped by a dedication to excellence and a deep understanding of the nuances of municipal law. I have over two decades of direct management experience including 16 years as the leader of a team of municipal lawyers and staff. My leadership style is both collaborative and empowering. I firmly believe in ensuring that my teammates are engaged, challenged and feel valued. As the team leader, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to share my years of experience with my team and mentor those that wish to advance their career development.
