-Collect recreational fishing data as part of the Marine Recreational Information Program (MRIP) in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties of NC.-Data collected provides fishery managers with a comprehensive assessment of the impact recreational anglers have on the state’s coastal marine resources.-Serve as a liaison between the DMF and recreational saltwater anglers, conducting creel census interviews with the goal to identify species of fish caught and released, and documenting the fishing location, fishing time, and other angler demographics.-Conducts at-sea biological sampling aboard headboats.-Coding and editing data according to standard operating procedures, ensuring accuracy with little to no errors, and uploading this data using an electronic tablet.-Have and use knowledge of fish identification, geographical sampling areas, and water bodies in coastal NC.
