I joined Network Rail as a Risk & Value Analyst to support their risk management function. This included developing and implementing effective risk management on brand new schemes and/or schemes moving into new tranches/stages, picking up projects already 'in-flight' as well as supporting projects coming to a close.The scope of my role is to:-Deliver risk management training to risk and non-risk junior team members.-Development of risk, assumptions, exclusions registers.-Facilitate risk reviews, assumptions reviews, uncertainty reviews, QRA workshops, lesson learned workshops.-Working closely with the project teams (specifically planners and commercial) to ensure both schedules and estimates are robust and fit-for-purpose for risk modelling and identify suitable activities to assign risks to in the plan (with context).-Facilitating QRA workshops to piece all the ingredients together (uncertainty, risk mapping, risk inputs etc) in order to run the analyses, often running them 'live' in the workshop to demonstrate how the model 'works' and the initial outputs.-Production of comprehensive QRA reports and delivering these to project teams following an analysis.-Supporting the project teams in delivering a combination of short possession QSRA's for weekend works/blockades when required in keeping with internal governance.-Producing risk reports after successfully completing the analysis of the QSRA / QCRA's.-Supporting the project teams in producing % uplifts for schemes requiring cognizance of their risk exposure (when a QRA was unsuitable/not possible).-Contributing into the Periodic Monthly Reporting with risk updates and outputs, including progress to date and progress looking forward-Involved in the quality assurance of QRA's in the risk team, providing peer reviews for my colleagues.

I joined the commission to support WSP deliver its commitments under the QRA (Quantitative Risk Analysis) framework for National Highways. I was integrated into WSP's 'back-office' QRA team, where my primary focus was to deliver a high-quality QRA service across several NH schemes, focusing predominently on QSRA (Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis). Running QSRA's for 10 different schemes from cradle to grave, as well as overseeing several others, my role included:-Supporting project teams with kick-off refresher style QRA sessions, where I would gauge the teams proclivity for risk management, demonstrate the process, manage expectations, debunk any misconceptions and answer any questions or concerns. -Work with planners to enhance the suitability of the programmes, ensuring they were fit-for-purpose for modelling.-Facilitating workshops to establish duration uncertainty ranges, validate the accuracy of the risk inputs and successfully map risks to suitable tasks in the plan.-Running analyses and providing comprehensive reports of what the outputs were demonstrating in layman's terms to the team as well as key recommendations, facilitating post-analysis workshops to answer any questions.
