As a part of the Early Detection and Rapid Response Program my main duties involved gps and mapping using Garmin eTrex and ArcGIS for new invasive species communities (and rapid treatment via mechanical or chemical means) as well as observed state and federal listed species in backcountry areas of the Manitou islands at Sleeping Bear Dunes National.

Working in a team setting, we identified invasive aquatic species, cut and harvested these species and managed the lake system. We used an electric prop motored boat to traverse the lake and identified aquatic plant species to cut and harvest.
