Whilst being self-employed I had to tender for contracts, build timer framed kits, manage the work force, and liaise with clients and site agents to ensure that work was completed to the highest standard. During this time I managed to improve my organisational skills. If I was not organised and didn’t have the work force ready that would have a detrimental effect on the time frames that I worked within to have the houses built.

As a Corporal I had various roles from being an Armoured Infantry commander, Regimental Policeman and section commander in the mortar platoon. Serving in Iraq, Kosovo, Poland, Canada and Germany, I also trained in basic first aid and in the management of armoured vehicles. I attended a Non-Commissioned Officers Cadre where I trained in Basic leadership and management techniques.
