Medical Equipment field service engineer for Baxter Healthcare Ltd. Responsible for the management, PM, repair and calibration of Baxter Healthcares’ portfolio of complex medical equipment at customer sites (public and private hospitals, hospices and clinics in both the North and South of Ireland) Duties: • Perform the installation and commissioning of medical equipment when required, adhering to Baxter Healthcares’ policies and procedures. • Liaise with quality department during the creation/adjustment of SOP’s with a strong focus on minimising the risk on patient safety.• Respond to customer queries and reported issues, and continually try to improve customer satisfaction.• Manage stock control of spare parts and consumables that are assigned. • Maintain all tools and test equipment to a high standard, and ensure that all calibrated equipment are certified and calibrated each year.• Fully comply with the quality standards required by Baxters’ ISO 13485 certification. • Complete all required documentation and record all results in a timely manner for all equipment where work has been carried out on (i.e. maintenance/repair/calibration)

- Previously worked as an auto-mobile mechanic for John Hynes garage, servicing and crash repair. - Overhauled and repaired vehicles (cars, trucks, vans and heavy farming machinery)- Interacted with customers daily, ordered new stock from suppliers and assisted in co-ordinating the logistical planning of company work loads.The job role was particularly challenging, in which the working environment was often stressful due to constant pressure to meet customer deadlines and company goals.

I undertook an eight-month placement as a student engineer for Pratt and Whitney Ireland, a branch from a large global organisation which specialises in the maintenance and overhaul of jet engine cases. My duties included designing jet engine case fixtures for maintenance operations, creating standardised work documents for employees involved in the companies maintenance and operation processes, reviewing and editing company engineering manuals, and assisting engineers with a number of different projects. While working on my placement, I also took part in company kaizen events which reviewed and improved a number the organisations work processes, reducing the maintenance time and costs involved with the jet engine cases that are overhauled.

Previously worked in a bowling and entertainment complex at Oranmore, Co. Galway while studying for a B.Eng in University. Initially I was employed as a receptionist and customer assistant, but my duties and responsibilities quickly expanded, and I was further trained as a bowling lane mechanic - performing periodic maintenance, reparations and overhauling of bowling lane systems and the heavy machinery.Furthermore, as a general technician it was often required to repair and calibrate arcade equipment and bowling lane systems. During this employment I had the opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills from dealing each day with various customer issues, for instance relating to faulty arcade systems or problems experienced with the bowling systems and lanes.
