My parents and grandparents instilled in me the value of a strong work-ethic. In fact, I carry in my heart and mind fond memories of working in my grandfather’s Insurance Agency as a boy, I thought the money I earned would allow me to live like a king and enjoy all that my heart desired. However, my parents, each respected members of the insurance industry, taught me during my reign as king that a “penny saved is a penny earned.” Of course, at the age of six or seven, I wasn’t thrilled about saving because spending and getting things was so much fun. My friends earned money one minute and ran to the convenience store the next. As they made their trek to the store, I made my way to a conveniently located bank. Saving money made me feel secure even at a young age. I still feel safe because of the financial philosophies and work-ethic instilled in me by a strong and entrepreneurial family. I have put those philosophies and work-ethic to good use by making the best use of my time working in diverse industries such as finance, customer service, retail, insurance, and even doing demanding physical work. I am a very well-rounded person and excellent worker. I use my diverse work history to help make connections with people and resolve challenging work situations. I know hard work. Hard work knows me. We have never been strangers! For that reason and others I mentioned earlier, I will be a great contributor to a financial organization upon completion of my education. Learning new concepts and ideas about finance and economics is my passion! I have the desire to pursue excellence in both fields. I am committed to becoming a force to be reckoned with in both fields once I have achieved my educational goals!
