Patrick K. Coughlin is a Partner at Coughlin Midlige & Garland LLP. He concentrates his practice on insurance and reinsurance coverage litigation and counseling as well as commercial litigation. Patrick represents domestic and international insurers in a wide range of insurance coverage disputes arising under commercial general liability, directors and officers, cyber, professional liability, errors and omissions, mortgage holders’ liability, product recall and workers compensation policies, among others. He counsels both ceding companies and reinsurers in connection with reinsurance claims and arbitrations in jurisdictions throughout the United States and internationally. In the commercial area, Patrick represents both U.S. and European clients, including product manufacturers and distributors, in disputes arising out of commercial transactions and product sales. Patrick has been selected to the Super Lawyers New Jersey Rising Stars list (2020 - 2024) and selected by his peers for inclusion in various editions of The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch© (2021 - 2024).
