At MCA-N, I managed the complete Contract Lifecycle for the development of Management Information Systems for our beneficiaries. I created TORs (Terms of Reference), RFPs (Requests for Proposals), evaluated bids, facilitated project communications, and evaluated deliverables, ensuring the needs of our beneficiaries were being met.I was also responsible for maintaining, extending, documenting and providing user support for MCA-N's internal Contract Management system.Finally, I developed custom software that began automated efforts to reconcile payment data contained within two independent systems. (I completed the software and reconciliation effort later in my next role as Technology Consultant.)

At the Ministry of Education in Namibia, I provided much-needed technical services:- I designed and developed a data capturing system, installed it each Regional Office, and provided user training and support. System was used to successfully capture the 2010 Fifteenth Day Statistic survey responses.- I received and processed hundreds of unique requests for educational data. Working directly with requestors, I refined the request to ensure our data could support it, and then I developed a complex SQL query to extract the data from our database.- I designed and developed a website that offered tools to generate both general and highly-customized reports. The website and tools greatly increased the technical capacity of our office by reducing the time and technical skill required for custom report creation.

As a Programmer at We Build Pages, I had two primary tasks:- I designed and developed several Internet applications that sought to identify which features of websites contributed most to being highly ranked in search engines, and- I designed a web-based, data driven application to record and automate the company's Internet asset monitoring and reporting functions.

Based on osCommerce, the website integrated with the company's ERP for product and order synchronization, and had custom calculations for sales tax and shipping costs based on shipping address. The website served as the primary point of sales and lead generation for the company.In addition, I:- Enhanced the network infrastructure- Specified, procured, and built the company file server- Automated both CD/DVD and remote-site backups of the ERP database- Built a web-based portal for customers to upload digital assets for their orders- Automated the backup and cataloging of digital customer assets

An immersive experience, I developed and taught conversational English lessons to children in Dalian China, and provided English tutoring services.

Omuthiya, Namibia

As a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Namibia, I taught English and Maths to students in grades 9 and 10. I also developed an Introduction to Computers course, and taught 18 teachers and around 200 students computer basics. In addition to my teaching duties, I secured a donation of 8 computers, two donations of books for the school library (totally more than 500 books), and a donation of 140 sweatshirts and other warm clothing that was distributed to the 127 orphans at school for use during the winter months.
