- Examined how the brightest astrophysical explosions shine by applying an open-source, high-performance plasma physics code to the highly non-linear problem of particle acceleration in shocks.- Wrote an open-source Python 3 analysis pipeline, with an interactive Vue.js/D3.js front-end and Flask back-end to interactively extract physics results from plasma simulations.- Proposed and co-organized a computational astrophysics conference with ~40 attendees.- Awarded competitive computational resources of 30 million CPU hours at national computing facilities as a Co-I; performed original research which resulted in 2 publications.

- Led effort to model data observed during high-energy astrophysical explosions. Work included developing new codes based on scipy and numpy; resulted in 3 articles.- Used data structures and algorithms to increase the speed of a C++ high-performance code by ~100 times, which has resulted in 2 peer-reviewed articles. - Managed ~800 undergraduates and ~30 teaching assistants per semester. Taught the introductory physics laboratory course at UT Austin and developed a new curriculum.
