Responsible for managing and executing the purchasing of raw materials and components to support the aerosol manufacturing division. Coordinate and execute all outsourced purchasing. Negotiate pricing and improve vendor relationships. Analyze data from MRP system to determine purchase quantities. Place and expedite orders as necessary. Visit suppliers. Process NCRs. Evaluate and report on key supplier performance metrics. Collaborate with finance, distribution, compounding, distribution, new product development, engineering, and quality teams.

Direct management of over $4 million in annual purchases from domestic and foreign vendors. Supervise buying, receiving and distribution personnel. Work closely with production planning for MRP commitments. Evaluate needs, prepare purchase orders, track and expedite shipments as necessary. Assist in customs compliance and freight forwarding requirements. Oversee inventory management, physical inventories, and warehousing. Create and maintain Bill of Materials. Manage supplier relationships and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Locate new supply sources. Collaborate with manufacturing and finance leadership to resolve and eliminate issues and work toward continuous improvement objectives.

Solely responsible for leading all shift activities and personnel (35+ direct reports) of a FDA regulated distribution center shipping out over 10,000 orders a day. Assure smooth workflow and maximum productivity. Hire, evaluate, discipline, and discharge employees as necessary.

Control material flow though plant. Monitor job progress and notify production planning concerning availability of materials. Expedite goods as necessary. Improve Bill of Materials and reconcile after project completion. Provide inventory information (raw and finished goods) to manufacturing, purchasing, project management, engineering and sales departments. Act as liaison between front office and shop floor. Maintain cycle count accuracy and update master system information. Oversee all inventories. Additional functions: Shipping, receiving, purchasing, expediting, returns processing.
