In this role, I was responsible for the analysis and automation of the manufacturing process data collection system during production of a patient specific custom cranial implant. Key components of this project included:- Collaborating with employees to gather user experience insight regarding interaction with the system.- Creating As-Is and To-Be process maps using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).- Designing data dictionaries to be used for data cleansing, correction, and standardization.- Developing software for a cross-platform Python application that interacts with an Excel spreadsheet to automatically record, analyze, and visualize manufacturing process data points.

I spent the summer shadowing Dr. Stephen Grill at the Parkinson's & Movement Disorders Center of Maryland 15+ hours per week. Here, I was able to closely observe and assist a specialty neurologist who works with patients in a clinical setting as well as conducting his own research on Parkinson's disease and precision grip on the side.
