This Job included dealing with pay roll, work schedules, being a team leader, as well as making the store and everyone working in it as proficient and productive as possible. I also organized assets and created an accounting portfolio to log all expenses and profits of the store weekly. This allowed the bosses to have better understanding of how the business is running, while simultaneously making it easier for the accountant to file their yearly taxes.

I was working as a Cashier for a Portuguese-American deli where I was responsible for transactions as well as utilizing my skills with foreign language to tend to the customer. The majority of people in the area are Spanish or Portuguese speaking.

I took part in the cultural emersion program offered by St. John’s University, where I traveled to Paris, France, Rome, Italy, and Limerick, Ireland. During my time spent living in these different countries I took courses such as International Business, Economics: the studying of income inequality, and others. This experience helped me hone my language skills, but also gave me insight on how others around the world live.

I was a Sales Associate for the PC department, which taught me computer literacy. That job helped me practice and hone my people and sales skills. This all amounted to my ability of being able to listen and understand what the customer wanted. My assets allowed me to offer them the best options for what they were looking for. Some of my achievements at Best Buy were being in the top 1% in sales for the district.

I was given a unique opportunity where, Columbia University, offered me a scholarship to take two business classes. I received full college credits for an Economics course and Business Management course. It was a truly exhilarating experience because it gave me insight on college level classes, but also helped me determine what my major would be.
