Patrick is a leading specialist in Sustainable Building and Communities With a background in architectural technical design and project management Patrick has over 25 years experience in the design and realisation of buildings in the UK and Ireland.Over the last 15 years he has re-trained and developed a specialism in the field of low energy and low environmental impact buildings, increasingly acting in a specialist consultant and researcher in this field while also working as an lecturer researcher in the Dublin Institute of Technology now Technical University of Dublin, where he co-rounded and co leads an MSc in Energy Efficiency Design. He designed and built Ireland's first Zero Net Energy House, the iLEEiD house (integrated low energy & environmental impact design) for which he received national awards - SEAI and Green Awards. Patrick's work, while centered on low energy and low environmental impact building design, has diversified and included consultancy and research in a range of fields such as Ecological Construction Materials - notably HempLime Biocomposite Renewable Energy, Wind, PV, SHW, Geotherm, Bioenergy, SRC Sustainable Energy Communities - including Dundalk 2020Green Business Development He is currently active in private consultancy & research and also in academic lecturing and research. Patrick is also involved in Christian ministry and social projects in Ireland, Africa and Brazil.
