Essential responsibilities and duties in my current position are to:• Assist Streetcar Operations & Maintenance Chief with maintenance schedules; assign and verify inspections, service and repairs as required.• Act as a first responder in emergencies following well established APTA and Streetcar rules & guidelines; on-scene accident investigations; re-rail trains and recover rail vehicle from accidents.• Schedule operator work assignments for routine and special events.• Prepare proposals for capital projects and streetcar overhauls.• Coordinate and verify the work of contractors, both in and out of agency.• Train and certify staff on streetcar maintenance; design training materials and facilitate training classes; work with employees to correct deficiencies.• Prepare reports and correspondence to multi-agency managers and supervisors.• Implement recovery of streetcar vehicle failures.• Consult with safety, engineering, material, environmental, and other staff in the development of maintenance programs and standard operating procedures.This position also requires a journey level knowledge of maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, and a thorough understanding of both digital and analog control systems as relating to current rail transit technology. My experience as a mechanic, Lead Mechanic and Supervisor, for more than 22 years, has presented me with invaluable experience from an maintenance perspective as well as the past 5+ years have developed a understanding of the Operations aspect as well. I have also maintained both a Washington State CDL, and a Rail Operation Certificate. I have received FEMA “Incident Commander” and NIMS (National Incident Management Supervision) training from the Department of Homeland Security.

Journeyman Mechanic - experience in all aspects of coach repair.Full time Lead since 24 November 2001.Supervising 8 to 18 mechanics.Frequently filling in as Acting Chief responsible for a diverse crew of 25 including lead mechanics, mechanics, dispatchers, equipment service workers, parts workers and utility service workers.Selected as 1 of 3 applicants to be placed in a pool for future position as Chief of Vehicle Maintenance.Responsible for the Maintenance of 200-300 Transit coaches and Non-revenue vehicles
