During my tenure at Facet, I was recruited to address organizational gaps and improve processes, significantly enhancing member experiences. I formed many lasting relationships and worked under several excellent managers who influenced my professional growth.In this role I conducted daily meetings with members to facilitate account funding through transfers and rollovers, ensuring seamless processes. Additionally, I volunteered to help manage the company's investment operations inbox, addressing NIGOs and resolving account-related issues efficiently. My proactive approach to resolving customer service issues and reducing ticket backlogs ensured high service standards and same-day resolutions. Throughout this period, I effectively managed multiple projects, consistently meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs).I had the privilege of working with Hayes Anderson, Laura Read, and Rayan Oueini. Hayes taught me about process optimization, Laura was an incredible multi-tasker and confidant, and Rayan inspired his team with a laid-back yet motivating approach.

As the Specialized Advice Coordinator at Facet, I was instrumental in establishing a new team and facilitating a strategic partnership that brought $13 million of assets onto our partner platform within the first month. Serving as the primary point of contact, I efficiently handled planner and client inquiries, conducted thorough research, and provided accurate and comprehensive answers. I established and maintained effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, fostering seamless partnerships and collaboration. My strategic initiatives identified and addressed gaps in the planning process, resulting in improved efficiency and effectiveness. Paul Peterson, my manager during this period, was a significant mentor and remains a valuable connection.

Transitioning to Facet allowed me to prioritize flexibility and work-life balance while continuing to deliver exceptional service and support. I volunteered for additional responsibilities, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. My performance was recognized, leading to my selection for the Wealth Counsel and Culture Builders groups, where I contributed to strategic initiatives and fostered a positive work environment. I played a key role in training and interviewing new team members, ensuring smooth onboarding processes and maintaining high talent levels within the organization. Additionally, I led the development of a retirement plan review tool and process, streamlining the evaluation of retirement plans. I provided comprehensive member support through various channels, including email, Zoom phone, website, and Zoom meetings. Lizzy Russell, my manager, was an exceptional leader and remains a close friend.

A major benefit of joining an organization in its infancy was the ability to affect change and be multifaceted. We had titles, but we didn’t have boxes. I was a tech expert, an operations tactician, and a trainer. First and foremost, I was a Financial Planner, partner, and coach to my clients.I worked with a full range of individuals at different stages in their careers and lives, each facing their own unique challenges and goals. That’s why individuality in planning was critical. Every plan was tailored to each client. Every conversation centered around their needs, goals, and strategies.I was proud of my clients and the work we did. They could see their goals coming into view: college funds, retirement nest eggs, emergency funds, long-term planning strategies, charitable giving, estate planning, debt elimination, and more. Even during a pandemic, our clients were still able to continue on their financial path.It was a continual journey of education, commitment, and communication. These three things were also important from an operational and team standpoint. From being Chair of the Midwest Regional Board for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and internally learning the compliance side of things, I was able to bring in new ideas, concepts, and product knowledge and share across the board in-house.I also really enjoyed streamlining processes, eliminating time wasters, and making things as efficient and impactful as possible.Kenneth Klabunde, my manager, provided invaluable guidance throughout this period, and our professional relationship ended amicably. We are still friends to this day.
