Patrick prides himself on deeply understanding the environment in which local governments operate and the planning and development space. He has spent much time travelling across the State advising Officers and Managers and private clients on how to solve their issues in the most simple and effective manner, and ensuring the interests of all relevant stakeholders are appropriately addressed. Patrick is forging a reputation for offering a fresh new way in which to deliver value for local governments and ensuring developers can achieve good planning outcomes while minimising time and cost implications. He has experience in:- Development application and project advice-Planning & Environment Court appeals for local governments and private developers- Originating applications in the Planning & Environment Court seeking declarations and orders including minor change orders and orders excusing non-compliance with the planning legislation- Enforcement proceedings in the Planning & Environment Court and prosecutions relating to development and environmental offences in the Magistrates Court-Local government governance including complaints, conflicts of interest, material personal interests, delegations, disciplinary proceedings, requests for information, information privacy, information sharing, ombudsman complaints and investigations- Operational advice including enforcement options advice, investigations, warrants and evidence gathering, the appointment of local government workers and authorised persons and their powers, and preparing statutory notices for local governments.Early in his career Patrick was employed by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where he assisted in criminal prosecutions in Queensland including significant high profile environmental prosecutions. Patrick is a keen sportsman having played at local, regional and State level in Rugby League, Cricket and Athletics.
